Last Saturday, over 200 participants on Team Miriam marched in FIU’s x Out of the Dark Campus Walk , in support of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. Team Miriam, who comprised over half of the total participants, successfully raised over $60,000 out of the event’s $67,000 total funds – including over $5,000 by Lauren Rivero, who was also one of the top individual fundraisers for the entire event.

This remarkable achievement shattered all-time records, not only for the highest funds raised by a walk event in all universities across the United States but also for the most funds ever raised by a single team. A heartfelt thanks to everyone who dedicated their Saturday morning to show solidarity, love, and support for Miriam and our family. We eagerly anticipate an even larger turnout next year. #TeamMiriam
